Kim Kardashian Chooses Hypnotherapy to Overcome Anxiety of Giving Birth, Idea Courtesy Kate Middleton

Reality television star Kim Kardashian is hunting for solutions to her pregnancy problems - from her pregnancy lips to the anxiety surrounding giving birth.

Earier this month, on Mother's Day, Kim revealed that she was nervous and anxious about her impending motherhood. According to the latest media reports, Kim, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend rapper Kanye West, has sought the help of a hypnotherapist to manage her anxiety about giving birth.

"Kim has been seeing a hypnotherapist to help her deal with her anxiety about giving birth," a friend of the Kardashian family told HollywoodLife.com.

Kim made the decision after learning about its effectiveness in curing the morning sickness of pregnant Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. "She got the idea from Kate Middleton who had been working with a hypnotherapist that helped her with morning sickness," the source added to the website.

In December 2012, Middleton was admitted to hospital for experiencing a severe form of morning sickness known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum. In January, Australia's New Idea Magazine reported hypnotherapy as helping Middleton manage the condition. "The hypnotherapy is taking away any negative thoughts connected with food from the morning sickness, and replacing them with cravings for healthy, nutritious food," a source told New Idea Magazine.

Hypnotherapy is a psychological treatment adopted to treat a variety of problems including asthma, stress, addiction, bedwetting and eating disorders. It has also been widely used to prepare pregnant women for giving birth and to overcome the anxiety and discomforts related to pregnancy. According to experts, hypnotherapy has gained more popularity among pregnant women recently. "More and more women are seeking hypnotherapy during their pregnancy to help with a wide range of health concerns, including morning sickness and anxiety which can both be quite debilitating," Charles Whobrey, of My Sunny Mind in Los Angeles, told Hollywoodlife.com.

The 32-year-old "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star started dating West in April 2012, shortly after her split with husband and NBA player Kris Humphries. Kim and West confirmed the baby news in December 2012. In February 2013, ending the long suspense about her baby's gender, sources close to the couple confirmed that Kim and West are going to have a baby girl.

However, pregnancy has not been an easy experience for Kim. In April, she revealed her painful pregnancy to the media. On May 27 she revealed that her "pregnancy lips" were going "outta control." However, she was quick to find a solution- "Pregnancy lips.... @EOS to the rescue! LOL" she wrote, after posing with a lip balm.
