Kim Kardashian Baby News: Reality Star Tested Out Holistic Diet During Pregnancy

In a bonus clip from "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," a very pregnant Kim Kardashian meets with a holistic expert after suffering from pregnancy complications.

In the June 16 episode of the reality series, the first-time mom suffered from severe stomach pain. According to The Daily Mail, the doctor told Kardashian that it could be appendicitis but that he didn't want to operate on her "because it has potential complications for the pregnancy."

"Getting appendicitis while pregnant is not fun," Kardashian told the camera. "It's not easy. It's going to be really tough to go through."

Although her health condition improved, Kardashian changed her diet with the guidance of her holistic specialist to put an end to her heartburn. Her diet alterations included trying ghee, a clarified butter, which is believed to make delivery easier and help the baby's brain development.

Sister Kourtney Kardashian also drank ghee while pregnant with her daughter Penelope.

"I start the day with a teaspoon of ghee-clarified butter that I melt and drink," the older Kardashian told Redbook Magazine. "It's an Ayurvedic thing that doesn't taste good, but it's good for you,"

Kardashian also had a dramatic delivery. Suffering from severe swelling, sometimes a sign of the deadly condition preeclampsia, which is defined by pregnancy-induced high blood pressure, doctors decided to deliver the baby three weeks early to avoid serious health problems, according to People magazine.

It hasn't been confirmed whether or not Kim was in fact suffering from preeclampsia, but the only cure for the condition is early delivery.

Despite the drama, Kim and boyfriend Kanye West delivered healthy baby girl North West on June 15.

A Kardasihan family insider told E! News, "Nori is doing great. She's such a happy and smiley baby and she sleeps incredibly well at night."
