Amy Duggar King Opens Up About Sex And Family Scandal; Admits Feeling Different From The Rest Of The Duggars

Amy Duggar King, the cousin of "19 Kids and Counting" stars Jessa, Jill and Josh Duggar, just proved she's a rebel when she recently opened up about feeling different from the rest of the Duggar family to People. In fact, she didn't shy away from opening up about pre-marital sex and the scandal that rocked the family.

Describing herself as a free bird to the magazine, she also discussed her married life with husband, Dillon King, and her experience growing up with Duggar patriarch, Jim Bob Duggar's, extremely conservative clan. Amy revealed that she'd always known that she was unlike her famous cousins.

"I was born out of wedlock," she said and further shared that her mother, Deanna Duggar, Jim Bob's older sister and father, Terry Jordan, married years after she was born. Amy's parents just separated in December of last year and she says it was their non-traditional relationship which made her feel different.

Though she attended a Christian school all her life, she admits that she "never really felt up to the Duggar standard." Though she has the Duggar for her last name, Amy thanks her dad for the woman she has become.

Dad Jordan recalled to People of their hiking days and letting her listen to secular music. "I made a concerted effort for her to be able to express and be herself." And it seems like Amy is expressing herself just fine.

Amy proudly revealed that she is not feeling any guilt for being who she is. Unlike cousins Jill and Jessa whose first kiss happened at their weddings, Amy blatantly said that she thinks kissing should happen before one gets married. And according to Brides, while neither she nor her husband were virgins when they first met, they both decided to wait until after they get married.

Despite the differences in beliefs, Amy says that the family has been very accepting and is treating her husband as their own. "I love them," she said. Read more about Amy Duggar on this week's issue of People.
