Vegan Diet For Kids: Should Toddlers Go Vegan?

Now that we're living in the "on the go" era, unhealthy food choices (mostly processed and fast food) would always make its way into every home. This being said most parents would only want what's best for their kids, and some would even choose the vegan diet for their kids to make sure that they're feeding their child super foods that can keep them strong and healthy.

Though opting for a vegan diet might seem like a superb choice, the biggest question is "is it safe to eliminate meat, fish, dairy and poultry on your child's daily diet?"  Going green does have countless benefits, which are ideal for kids at a young age, as per The Vegan Society. Though you would need to eliminate some of the most important supplements needed for your child's growth such as milk for calcium and meat for protein, looking for alternative sources is a must to ensure that your child's daily diet requirements are fulfilled.

Veganism is ideal for kids growing up in this generation, which is infiltrated with obesity and processed food, according to Shape. One of the biggest hesitations on why parents would not want to convert to veganism is the thought that their kids, most especially pre-schoolers might not like eating their veggies.

But Rainbeau Mars, an author and yoga expert cited some facts on why is it ideal for families to adopt the vegan diet for kids, stating the importance on why you should let kids start eating healthy at an early age.  "It's really important that kids are eating enough nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, but what happens often with mainstream philosophies is that we think kids benefit from eating white bread and nitrate-filled animal products, we forget kids actually will like vegetables, especially if they get involved in the cooking process," Mars said on his blog post.
