ConAgra Recalls Kroger's Break 'N Bake Cookie Dough, Contains Peanuts

ConAgra Foods Inc. announced Tuesday the recall of some Kroger's Break 'N Bake chocolate chip cookie dough packages after some were found to contain traces of peanuts and may pose a harmful threat to those with severe peanut allergies and consume them unknowingly.

According to an Associated Press report, ConAgra said the peanut butter cup cookie dough was unintentionally packed into the packages. As a precautionary measure, the company is conducting a product recall.

Kroger informed customers to check their refrigerators and freezers for Kroger Break 'N Bake 16-ounce chocolate chip cookie dough packages that have a use-by date of Nov. 24. 

Thankfully, no illnesses have been reported so far.

The recall was issued in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. ConAgra was unable to confirm the number of packages this recall affects.

The affected package has the following UPC and use-by date:

  • Unit UPC: 11110 87530
  • Use by: 24NOV13C21

If a customer has one of these packages, they may return to the product to the store they purchased it from for a full refund. The recalled cookie dough was sold in Kroger, Dillons, Baker's, Gerbes, Foods Co., Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry's, Jay C, Owen's, Pay Less, Scott's, QFC, Ralphs and Smith's stores in 26 states.
