Family Wants Marijuana Card for Five-Year Old Son

A Mesa family is trying to afford their five-year old son with the chance to be treated by medical marijuana, My Fox Phoenix reported.

Zander Welton suffers from periodic seizures and autism and his parents claimed that he has had reactions to the other drugs they have tried.

They have recently heard of other children who have had good experiences and responses with medical marijuana and claim that this can be their last resort.

In order to be approved of this treatment, Zander would need two authorizations from attending physicians.

The family also prefers that their child receive the treatment in the form of oil.

Zander's family has also created a Facebook page called "Zander Welton's Journey" where they post regular updates and photos of their son and the entire family.

Family, friends and those who are concerned can share their thoughts and prayers for Zander and his family on this public page.

Their family also opened a Zander Welton Medical Fund on You Caring wherein they request people to donate any amount of money to help provide treatment for their one year old son.

As of late, the family has already raised $340 of their $14,400 goal.
