1. You are both willing to talk about your issues.

A person who is not willing to confront his demons will never be able to defeat them. Remember that being willing to talk honestly, openly and calmly about your issues as a couple is the first step to reconciliation.

2. You are both willing to admit your mistakes.

It takes two people to make a relationship work and two people to make it suffer. Never let pride get in the way. If both of you are humble enough to admit your mistakes and willing to change your ways then nothing is impossible for your future as a couple.

3. You are both willing to forgive.

You have talked about what killed the relationship. You have also admitted your mistakes to each other. But are you ready to forgive each other?

Forgiving each other means that you have moved on and have accepted each other's mistakes. Forgiving also means that you will not let past mistakes hinder your path to a more intimate relationship in the future.

4. You still have warm feelings for each other.

"While love doesn't have to be the main motivator, your efforts are much more likely to pay off if positive feelings naturally bubble to the surface as you talk or think about each other," WebMD shared. If most of your feelings for the other person are hatred, loathing or indifference, then there is no point in getting back together.

5. You have both matured.

"Time has passed, and you both are more mature and much wiser," Bustle explained. If you see that the other person has not evolved, then your relationship will likely be killed by the same things as before.

Always remember that many successful married couples today decided to end their relationship before but got back together after some time. After the wounds have healed, watch out for signs that you should get back together.
