3 Things Your Middle School Kid Will Do When He Gets Free Condoms in School; Just Hope It Will be No. 1 and 2

Many parents in San Francisco were outraged when the Board of Education allowed middle school children to avail of free condoms given in school.

The worst part of this, they said, is that the Condom Availability Program does not require a parent's consent. Children would have to go to the nurse's office to get a condom themselves, reports Teen Vogue.

Amidst the opposition, here are three possible things that your middle school child will do when there are free condoms in school.

Part of a big joke

Kids aged 10 to 12 who love to play pranks on unsuspecting classmates would go and get these free condoms in school and will most likely put them inside backpacks as a joke. Some would use it as a consequence for a "truth or dare" game, where the loser would end up going to the nurse's office to get one. In short, getting condoms will be part of a huge joke and something that they will be laughing at.

Satisfying curiosity

Some will get these free condoms for middle school children in order to satisfy curiosity. Some kids may not have seen a condom all their life, and to satisfy their ever inquisitive mind would just go and get one. For boys, it might lead them to try it out themselves, even if they're alone.

Contemplating sex

It cannot be denied that a middle school child now has an idea of sex, especially with the influence of the media. If one would purposefully get a free condom and use it for sex, then it would be protected sex. But, if one is already contemplating to have sex, and was too shy to get it from the nurse, and just goes ahead without any protection, it might lead to a more serious problem of unprotected sex.

So, these are the three things that a middle school child will do with free condoms in school. Just hope that he does either number one or two and not number three.
