'The Good Wife' Series Finale Spoilers: Will Past Characters Return For The Final Episode?

With the "The Good Wife" ending in a few weeks, fans expect a delivery of a proper closure to the series. Will past characters be back one last time? The show's creators revealed what's the deal with the season finale.

Among "The Good Wife's" more popular characters, aside from its main protagonist Alicia Florrick (played by Julianna Margulies), fans are hoping to see Kalinda Sharma(played by Archie Panjabi) and Will Gardner (played by Josh Charles) return to the show one last time. However, efforts to bring them back might prove futile and useless as the show's creators, Robert and Michelle King, revealed there will be no crazy surprises in "The Good Wife" series finale involving characters who departed the show.

"Kalinda went off deliberately to disappear - and we're honoring that choice. It wouldn't make sense for [Kalinda] to come back," Michelle King stated, per TV Line. Panjabi left the show in Season 6 amidst rumors that she didn't get along with Margulies, per Vogue. She's already starring in a new show, "The Jury," which will air on ABC next season.

"The Good Wife" writer and producer also said that it's impossible for Will's character to re-appear since he died in the show. They won't also resort to a time jump or flashback just to make the return happen. "The show was always built on the continuity of the moment," King added.

However, fans might get some closure from other recurring characters, including Robyn (played by Jess Weixler), who was inexplicably cut from the series. Back in March 2015, the Kings made it clear that Robyn is still with the law firm. "We didn't want to lose her or kill her off because we love the actress so much," said Robert King, per another TV Line interview. But so much has happened to "The Good Wife" since then and it is expected that the series finale will provide an explanation to what Robyn has been up to at work.

In the real life, Weixler had been too occupied with planning her wedding and getting married. People reports that she finally tied the knot last December. When it was confirmed last February that "The Good Wife" was ending this season, Weixler posted her goodbyes on Instagram.

Love @thegoodwife_cbs we will miss it! Proud to have been a part of such an incredible show
