'Bridget Jones Baby' Trailer, News & Update: Who Is The Father? Funny Mash-up Reveals Its Either Batman Or Superman!

"Bridget Jones Baby" unleashed a new trailer that might just add more confusion as to who is the real father. The funny mash-up teaser revealed that Batman or Superman could be involved, but this was actually part of a joke produced for Jimmy Kimmel's talk show.

In the funny trailer, Bridget's lovers were portrayed by Batman and Superman instead of Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and new beau Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey). The clip carried the same theme as the third "Bridget Jones" movie, but the superheroes' scenes spliced from the recent blockbuster flick, "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," made it more hilarious.

To compare, here's the real teaser to "Bridget Jones Baby," which the studio released at the end of March:

The third saga in the story of Bridget Jones puts the character in an interesting situation as even Bridget is not sure about her baby's paternity. Lead star Renee Zellweger said the plan to keep everyone in the dark is a brilliant one. "None of the cast knows who fathered Bridget's baby or who she'll choose as her beau. The plan is to keep us all in the dark, right up to the premiere," she said per Sunday Express

The actress shared the same sentiment during her guest stint on Today. She stated that they filmed three endings so as to keep the father's identity a secret. "Because you never know people with cellphones and talking, and I might slip up and tell my mom, 'Oh you know when she ends up with...'" Zellweger said.

Unfortunately, everyone will have to wait in the fall to learn the truth as "Bridget Jones Baby" won't premiere until Sept. 16, per E! Online. The movie follows over a decade of stories about the character, who was last featured in "Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason" in 2004.
