Manny Pacquiao Kidnap Plot: Floyd Mayweather's Rival Is Not Afraid Of Terrorist Threat

Fame and fortune can bring a person riches, power, influence and popularity. Unfortunately, it can also get you and your family kidnapped by terrorists. This is exactly what could have happened with the Filipino boxing legend and his family, as Philippine President Benigno Aquino III revealed a possible Manny Pacquiao kidnap plot from a terrorist group called Abu Sayyaf.

However, the retired boxer and current congressman Manny Pacquiao said during his campaign stop that he does not fear the terrorists because of his trust in God, the Los Angeles Times reports. "I doubt [the threat] but I'm not ignoring it," Pacquiao said via the Los Angeles Times. "I live my life like every day is the last so I have no fear. God is with me."

The supposed Manny Pacquiao kidnap plot was revealed by the president of the Philippines after the same terrorist group beheaded its Canadian hostage. President Aquino III also stated that the Abu Sayyaf group also planned to kill him and kidnap his sister, Kris Aquino.

The Abu Sayyaf terrorist group operates in Mindanao, which is a southern Philippine region far away from the country's capital, Manila. Mindanao is also a region where other Islamic militant groups exist.

Manny Pacquiao is currently campaigning in the Philippines to become a senator. Many surveys and polls indicate that Floyd Mayweather's rival is going to win in the Philippines' May elections, Phil Star reports. Despite the alleged Manny Pacquiao kidnap plot, the Filipino boxing icon says he loves the Muslim community in the Philippines and sees them as his friends.
