Two sources have reportedly confirmed Kerry Washington's pregnancy. According to E! News, the 39-year-old actress flaunted her baby bump when she attended the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in Washington, D.C. over the weekend and when she walked the red carpet at the 2016 Met Gala on Tuesday, May 3.

Kerry Washington, however, first showed the signs of her baby bump on the red carpet on April 25, when she attended the United Way of Greater Los Angeles Women's Summit, as per Us Weekly. As of late, Washington and Asomugha have yet to announce the pregnancy publicly.

Prior to the confirmation of Kerry Washington's pregnancy, rumors have circulated for quite some time, hinting the actress was concealing her baby bump. Sources even said Washington is still in the early stages of her pregnancy.

"Kerry's only in her first trimester, so it's still very early in the pregnancy, but this came as such a pleasant surprise to them both," an inside source revealed to Star magazine via Hollywood Life. "They're thrilled, and a little nervous, naturally."

Despite being a celebrity, Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha raised their firstborn daughter Isabelle Amarachi away from the public eye. But even though they're notoriously private about their lives, the couple has been candid about how parenthood changed them for the better.

"I will say I feel really, really blessed," Kerry told the Los Angeles Times. "I just feel really blessed that I'm kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life."

Speaking at a panel discussion at the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Florida, Washington stressed that not divulging anything about her personal life does not necessarily mean that her marriage was in trouble. Washington's message at the event was her subtle way of telling the media leave her personal life alone.

"If I don't talk about my personal life, it means I don't talk about my personal life," the "Scandal" star explained, Entertainment Tonight quotes. "That means not only did I not tell you when I was getting married, it also means if somebody has rumors about what's going on in my marriage, I don't refute them, because I don't talk about my personal life."
