Mom who had no idea she was pregnant gives birth on the toilet

Gaynor Rzepka had no idea she was pregnant - until the baby arrived.

Rzepka, 25, gave birth to Olly-James on Feb. 16 while on the toilet in her parents' bathroom, the Daily Mail reports.

The first-time mom said the birth was a complete surprise for her and her family, located Llantwit Major, Wales, adding that she had even run a half marathon halfway through her pregnancy.

Though, she admits, it did help explain her sudden fondness for Mars chocolates.

Hours before giving birth, Rzepka was working at the Filco supermarket in Cowbridge when she suddenly felt unwell. Her manager asked her if she wanted to go home early, but she insisted on staying until the end of her 10-hour shift.

Come night time, she woke up at around one in the morning in pain.

"I was having a really sharp pain in the side of my stomach all day and I didn't know what it was," she said. "The only way I can describe it is that it was like someone stabbing me in the right hand side of my groin. I didn't think much of it. At about five in the morning I felt like I needed the toilet but I couldn't go."

She said that around 5:20 a.m., she felt another really sharp pain so she went to the toilet again. She stood up because it didn't feel right and pushed. Just like that, a baby arrive. Luckily, Gaynor was able to catch the baby before he went into the toilet.

Gaynor is now on maternity leave in order to care for her newborn son.
