Christian Bale and Sibi Blazic expecting second child

Actor Christian Bale and wife Sibi Blazic are expecting their second child, according to reports.

The 40-year-old thespian who was nominated for Best Actor at the 86^th Annual Academy Awards exclusively confirmed the news to E! Online.

Blazic showed off her baby bump as she walked on the red carpet to support her husband at the Dolby Theater. Blazic wore a simple but gorgeous black ensemble at the event.

Bale and Blazic have been married for 14 years and are parents to their eight-year-old daughter, Emmeline. Sibi was a former model, make-up artist and was also Winona Ryder's assistant.

The couple have not yet released any comments about the news but it is quite obvious that Bales is a family man who appreciates his life at home and his family. In 2009 he told People: "It's all about my girls, my wife and my daughter. I carry a picture of them with me all the time."

The "Fighter" star told Esquire in December 2010: "I've got incredible pride for my family. I've absolutely fallen into that cliché of a dad who could just happily talk about my daughter endlessly."

He added: "The last few years of my life have been spent just watching animation - for my daughter - and getting a kick out of that. I love anything that she likes. If she's getting a kick out of it, I love it. I find myself tearing up at the most ridiculous things now, sitting next to my daughter while she's watching a movie. Me and my wife look across at each other like, 'Oh my God! Are we really doing this? Yes we are!'"

In 2011, he told People during an interview: "I truly believe you can't celebrate success without having your partner with you." Bale also said that he owed everything to his wife because "she is such a good, strong woman."
