Brittany Murphy's film hits theaters four years after her death

Brittany Murphy's last film before she passed away four years ago is set to hit theaters next month, according to reports.

The movie, entitled "Something Wicked," will be released in Eugene, Ore. April 4. It will come four years after the actress's death at the age of 32 in 2009 due to pneumonia, anemia and multiple drug intoxication.

Five months after Murphy's death, her husband, Simon Monjack, was also found dead under similar circumstances. The cause of his death was ruled as acute pneumonia and severe anemia.

Producer Joe Colleran describes the film as a psychological thriller about a young couple embarking on their honeymoon against their parents' wishes. When their parents are tragically involved in a car accident, horrific secrets from the couple's past come back to haunt them and ensure that they don't get to live happily ever after.

Colleran described Murphy's role and said that she "plays a psychiatrist who observes the couple's deteriorating relationship and sets out to determine what sinister forces are driving the madness."

The movie, shot in Eugene, will expand to Portland and Seattle a week later; producers are hopeful they can roll out the film nationwide.

"I would describe Brittany's performance as the most chilling performance of her career," Colleran told People:

"Something Wicked" also stars "One Tree Hill's" Shantel VanSanten, John Robinson of "Lords of Dogtown," Julian Morris of "Once Upon a Time" and James Patrick Stuart of "Supernatural."

A trailer of the movie was recently made available online and may be viewed at "Something Wicked's" official website. The website also comes with a range of information about the cast, images from the film, soundtracks and show schedules.
