Argentina mom dies after injecting breasts with Vaseline

A mom from Argentina reportedly died several weeks after injecting her breasts with Vaseline in an attempt to enlarge them, according to reports.

Sonia Perez Llanzon, 39, injected her breasts with Vaseline, one of many other life-threatening black market procedures people use to alter their figure, FOX News reports.

Llanzon, who is both a mom and an athlete, quickly experienced shortness of breath after performing the do-it-yourself procedure, likely caused by Vaseline that had traveled into her bloodstream, resulting in pulmonary embolism.

Upon reaching the hospital, medical staff found that she had multiple injuries on both of her breasts from the needles she used for the injections. At first, Llanzon was reluctant to admit the reason behind her condition, but as it worsened, she was left with no other choice but to confirm to the doctors that she had performed a breast enlargement method at home.

Doctor Julio Pla Cardenas, chief of surgery at Lucio Molas and the doctor in charge of treating Llanzon, explained that the human body is not designed to deal with foreign substances such as Vaseline.

"In all my medical career, I've never seen a case like this. The human body has antibodies to remove bacteria and viruses, but it hasn't got any mechanisms against this type of product," Cardenas said.

Cardenas said there has been an increase in the number of people turning to Vaseline injections as a form of body augmentation, including penis enlargement.
