'The Final 'Witcher 3' Expansion Pack Has Been Released: What 'Blood and Wine' is All About

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" has been hailed as one of the greatest video games of all time along with the rest of the franchise. However, all good things must come to an end and the story of Geralt of Rivia is no exception, no matter how good it may be. "The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine" serves as a near-perfect ending to Geralt's story that has spanned multiple years, video games, and even consoles.

"Blood and Wine" may be the finale piece of official "Witcher" content to see the light of day, but the developers chose to go out with a bang. The expansion lasts for a total of over 30 hours if the player decides to explore the world thoroughly and go through all of its side quests, according to reports from Tech Times. "Blood and Wine" shows Geralt being reunited with his old friend Regis, but things aren't so simple.

Regis has actually been manipulated into committing a mass amount of murders and the two friends set out on a journey to uncover the powers that be in this dark situation. The side missions mentioned before are quite compelling as well, showing Geralt coming to terms with who he is and how his life is meant to pan out. Even if a player is not on a quest, main story or otherwise, he or she can still enjoy the game by exploring the beautiful scenery inspired by the landscapes of France.

At the end of the game, Geralt finally retires at the vineyard that was gifted to him. It seems as though his life is finally normal, but that does not mean he will not slay the occasional monster to help around town. "Blood and Wine" definitely justifies the positive reviews garnered by the original game, even the perfect score given to it by GameSpot.
