'Shadowhunters' Season 2 Latest News & Spoilers: Cast Wins MTV Fandom Award; Katherine McNamara Spills New Plots and Twist For Second Season

While fans wait for "Shadowhunters" Season 2, the cast of the book series "The Mortal Instruments" are busy bagging awards for MTV Fandom Awards 2016. The cast of "Shadowhunters are also busy preparing for the upcoming series as they are always seen together heading the gym.

'Shadowhunters' Wins MTV Fandom Award

In the recent MTV Fandom Awards 2016, "Shadowhunters" TV got the Best New Fandom win. Katherine McNamara, thanked all the fans of the show and totally appreciated all their Fandom who made the award possible.

Katherine McNamara, who plays the lead character of Clary Fray accepted the award with grace and tweeted on her Twitter account the latest accomplishment of "Shadowhunters."

"Shadowhunters" is also vying for an award for Teen Choice 2016 but will have to compete with "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," "Lucifer," "Quantico," "Stitchers" and "Supergirl." Katherine McNamara will also be competing with her co-star Mathew Daddario who plays Alec for the Choice TV Breakout Star.

'Shadowhunters' Season 2 Updates on Cast

While the whole "Shadowhunters" Season 2 cast will be seen on 2017 but most of the cast are busy attending award shows and going to the gym. A recent report from Parent Herald featured most of the cast training as they prepare a more action packed Season 2.

Part of the reasons why most of the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 cast are doing heavy workouts is because according to recent reports, Clary Fray, Alec, and the rest of her team will battle Valentine and his army.

'Shadowhunters' Season 2 Plots and Twists

"Shadowhunters" is based on the book "The Mortal Instruments," which was also the movie "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones." Much about the series plot is based on the book written by Cassandra Clare so when Dominic Sherwood (Jace Wayland) about the plot of the show, he said," We know that season is gonna loosely be based on  book two so we have some kind of rough ideas."

However, Katherine McNamara and Dominic Sherwood also explained that viewers should still not rely much on the book because for "Shadowhunters" Season 1, the series stayed a little away from the book series which could also indicate that they may also do the same for "Shadowhunters" Season 2.
