In less than two months, "Empire" season 3 will be making an explosive television comeback. But aside from the interesting and dramatic plotlines, the hit Fox series will also feature some new characters as it delves deeper into Lucious and Cookie's teenage pasts.

Aside from knowing what will happen next in "Empire" season 3 following the cliffhanging season 2 finale, several artists are set to make guest appearances on the show. In fact, some of them will be playing the younger versions of Lucious and Cookie Lyon, CarterMatt revealed.

New Characters In 'Empire' Season 3

Fans are already getting excited to meet Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious (Terrence Howard) in their teenage years in "Empire" season 3. According to Deadline, the flashback roles will be played Ajiona Alexus as the "beautiful and innocent" Cookie and Jeremy Carver as the "bad boy" Lucious.

Other 'Empire' Season 3 Guest Stars

In addition to Alexus and Carver, actor-musician Ezri Walker will also be joining the cast of "Empire" season 3 as the "nerdy" 16-year-old Zeah, who has a talent in rapping. Alexus, Carver and Walker will also be joined by rapper Xzibit, Taye Diggs (Angelo Dubois), musician-actor Scott Mescudi aka Kid Cudi (rapper Gram), Sierra McClain, French Montana and Birdman, Parent Herald previously noted.

'Empire' Season 3 To Introduce Much Fiercer Cookie Lyon?

"Empire" season 3 will also reportedly introduce a much bolder, stronger and fiercer Cookie Lyon after her feud with ex-husband Lucious, who married Anika (Grace Gealey) in the previous season. Interestingly, "Empire" showrunner Ilene Chaiken supported Cookie's walkout during the season finale of the second season, Ecumenical News reported.

"They love one another, the path was clear, and all of the sudden, yet another thing from Lucious' past and the mistakes he made got in the way," Chaiken told TVLine in May. "And I'm with Cookie on this one: This is it. She's done. She's finished being hurt by Lucious."
