Finola Hughes Extends 'General Hospital' Leave

Finola Hughes, who plays as Anna Devane in ABC's "General Hospital" has gone for a summer vacation and was supposed to return this August. Anna was last seen in Port Charles earlier this month. ABC Soaps In Depth reported that the 56-year-old actress has extended her leave and that Finola will not return until probably after this fall.

Since there is no further reason shared as to why Finola Hughes is not yet returning, there are speculations that there might be some contract issues again between the cast and the management, per Celeb Dirty Laundry. Earlier, Liz Webber, who plays Rebecca Herbst, was rumored to leave "General Hospital" due to some contract problems. Likewise, Tyler Christopher took some time off after it emerged that he had not reached an agreement with GH after a long contract negotiations.

Tyler Christopher Confirms Return to 'General Hospital'

Speaking of which, it has now officially been confirmed that Tyler Christopher is coming back to take back his role as Nikolas Cassadine. Last week, his temporary recast Nick Stabile announced that his stint as Nik was done. ABC Soaps In Depth reported Tyler's confirmation during a "General Hospital" Fan Club Weekend event on Friday. The soap magazine posted on Twitter, "And there it is! Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) confirms to fans at the #GHFCW that he'll be back in Port Charles next month!"

Tyler Christopher, 43, originated the role as Nikolas Cassadine in "General Hospital" back in 1996. He recently won his first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

"General Hospital" airs every Monday to Friday on ABC at 2 p.m.
