NBA Trade Rumors: LeBron James Heading To Chicago Bulls Confirmed; 'The King' Wants To Surpass Michael Jordan?

There is no doubt that Michael Jordan is a living NBA legend. But did you know that aiming to be better than MJ or at least chasing his ghost is what motivates the three-time NBA Finals MVP LeBron James to be what he is today?

LeBron James is very open in his desire to give Cleveland Cavaliers their first NBA championship and he did. After making a history, you might think that James will now slow down but he is not.

The 12-time NBA All-Star is aiming for more. In fact, he has bigger goals than just scoring a championship. LeBron James is following the success of Michael Jordan and he explained that MJ's success is what motivates him to keep on moving forward and to keep on improving, ESPN reported.

"My motivation is this ghost I'm chasing," James told Sports Illustrated. "The ghost played in Chicago."

LeBron James admitted that his career is different than Michael Jordan's and he expressed how MJ inspired him to be the best on the basketball court. James considers Jordan as one of the great players and believes that having his name aligned with MJ on the NBA history will be extraordinary.

"My career is totally different than Michael Jordan's," LeBron James explained. "What I've gone through is totally different than what he went through. What he did was unbelievable, and I watched it unfold. I looked up to him so much. I think it's cool to put myself in position to be one of those great players, but if I can ever put myself in position to be the greatest player, that would be something extraordinary."

At the time, LeBron James is a three-time NBA finals MVP, four-time NBA MVP, 12-time NBA All-Star and two-time NBA All-Star Game MVP. Meanwhile, Michael Jordan is a six-time NBA Finals MVP, five-time NBA MVP, 14-time NBA All-Star and three-time NBA All-Star Game MVP.

LeBron James is close to chasing Michael Jordan's ghost and he will probably surpass MJ's success. However, for MJ's fans, the living legend will always be the best and perhaps, James might convince others that he could, probably.

Meanwhile, Parent Herald previously reported that LeBron James will be joining his pal Dwayne Wade in Chicago Bulls in 2017. Do you agree that he is heading to Chicago next NBA season?

Will LeBron James also play for Bulls where Michael Jordan build his career? What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
