‘Star Wars Episode 8’ News & Updates: It Might Come Sooner Than We Thought

The Force is certainly with us all as news of the latest chapter of "Star Wars" has just been revealed, and we might not have to wait too long for more glimpses and information on "Star Wars Episode 8." The news came from someone inside the development team who plays a key role in the "Star "Wars" films.

According to Cinemablend, John Williams, the conductor of the Boston Pops Esplande Orchestra, and the man behind the epic musical score of the "Star Wars" films, has recently revealed that they are now working on the soundtrack of "Star Wars Episode 8," as a rough cut of the film has already been made.

While vital parts of the "Star Wars Episode 8" plot, like the identity of Rey's parents, were not included in the cut to prevent major spoilers, Williams says that he has enough film to work with to begin creating the musical score.

The release date of the "Star Wars Episode 8" was originally set for May 2017, but after the development team felt that the script needed additional work, the film was set back and will now be launched in December 2017. Despite the delay in the movies's production, principal filming has already been finished. A tweet from "Star Wars Episode 8" director Rian Johnson back in July, confirmed the news that shooting for the film is already finished, according to Gamespot.

Johnson, who also directed the "Star Wars" spinoff "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", will make his directorial debut in the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy. With "Rogue One" about to be released in theaters in December of this year, fans are eagerly waiting for what Johnson brings to the table for the "Star Wars" saga.

As of now, with the main focus of the "Stars Wars" franchise on "Rogue One", not much has been revealed for "Star Wars Episode 8", not yet at least.
