Playboy Mansion Sold For $100 Million, Hugh Hefner Refuses To Leave?

After sitting in the market for a couple of months, the Playboy Mansion has been sold for $100 million, half of its original asking price of $200 million when it was first listed. But its owner, Hugh Hefner refuses to leave?

The Playboy Mansion has just become the most expensive home ever sold in Los Angeles after its neighbor Daren Metropoulos sealed the acquisition deal, CNN Money reported. The purchase of the famous mansion in LA also included one bizarre condition that is Hugh Hefner, 90 years old, will remain in the estate for the rest of his life.

"For the last 45 years, Mr. Hefner has imbued the estate with a rich and storied legacy. The property's heritage is not only that of a famous address; it is a true masterpiece in design," the 33-year-old buyer said in a statement. Metropoulos lives in the 2-acre home next to the Holmby Hills home, which was actually originally part of it since the property was developed in the 1920s. Metropoulos plans to reconnect and restore the two estates.

The Gothic-Tudor style home measures 21,987 square feet. For many years, the mansion owned by the Playboy Enterprises had been famous for celebrity-packed parties and as a sexual playground. The company's founder has lived and worked at the mansion since 1971 when bought it for $1.05 million.

Designed by Arthur R. Kelly in 1927, the Playboy Mansion sits on 5.3 acres of land. It has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a screening room, a games room, a wine cellar, a tennis and basketball court, a waterfall and a swimming pool with a manmade cave or grotto.

According to Mirror Online, Larry Flynt, owner of the pornographic magazine Hustler, planned to offer a bid earlier this year, but he did not believe the mansion is worth $200 million, not even half of it.
