'Kings of Leon' Drummer Nathan Followill is a New Dad

"Kings of Leon" drummer Nathan Followill and wife Jessie Baylin welcomed a baby girl, at 4:01 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.26.  

The new arrival Violet Marlowe Followill, weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces at birth.

The proud father announced the news on Twitter.

"I can proudly announce the birth of my sweet angel Violet Marlowe Followill. My heart has been stollen and it feels so good," he wrote, sharing his happiness with his 140,893 followers.

Fans and well-wishers of the drummer congratulated the new dad for expanding his family.

"Awww! Congratulation to you and Jessie! What a gorgeous name!," one of the followers wrote, while another one adding, "congratulations, lovers!! i can't wait to meet the beautiful, sweet little nugget!!"

The couple got married in 2009 and Violet is their first child. The couple confirmed expecting a baby shortly after Followill's brother and Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill and wife, Victoria's Secret model Lily Aldridge welcomed their daughter Dixie Pearl in June.

"I can proudly announce that me & the lovely @JessieBaylin are expecting our first child. I'm beyond excited/anxious. Life is beautiful," he wrote, June 27.

The Grammy award-winning Kings of Leon rock band was started in 1999 and comprises of four members of a family -brothers Anthony Caleb Followill, Ivan Nathan Followill, Michael Jared Followill and their cousin Cameron Matthew Followill.

The band shot to fame after their first album "Youth and Young Manhood," became a great success. The band is named after the Followills' grandfather Leon.
