Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds: 'Parenting is Chaotic'

New mom Blake Lively is not afraid to admit she isn't holding it together as a parent. The Hollywood star and her equally famous husband, Ryan Reynolds, are still trying to adjust to their new responsibilities after their daughter, James, was born in December.

"What our house is like, it's just in complete chaos. It's lasting on no sleep and not knowing what to do because you're a parent," said Lively, 27, as published in Female First.

Back when she was promoting her movie "Age Of Adaline" in April on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," the actress said that she's constantly surrounded by dirty diapers while sleep has become a luxury.

Describing her current situation as "pathetic," the former star of "Gossip Girl" also jokingly revealed that her husband "does nothing" in his share of the parenting task. However, Blake took this all back and said that in truth, they're very competitive against each other as parents. They've been trying to teach James her first word. "Dada is banned in our house," joked Lively to Fallon, as published on X17.

During a chat with Stylist, Blake expressed her worries about becoming a mother in the beginning.

"I remember leaving the hospital thinking: I have no idea what I am doing. I have a life in my hands and I'm not equipped to do this, because I don't have the knowledge I need to take care of the most precious, fragile thing in the world," she shared.

However, the gorgeous star is slowly taking things one step at a time, admitting that it's important to realize that everything will be okay. Apart from work and having her hands full with James, Lively is also trying to lose weight, and says she knows there is pressure to do this for women in her career.

"I'm still 15 pounds heavier so it's nice that people think I lost my baby weight. I still haven't lost a pretty good chunk of it, but it's also the pressure - who cares?" she said in the Female First report.

She thinks that the expectation that a mother goes back to her original weight after a pregnancy is downright silly, and she admits there are days when she also feels like a huge potato. She, however, said, "You think that I would never feel bad about myself? I'm a human being - everybody has their insecurities," in a report from Daily Mail.
