NBA Trade Rumors: Steven Adams Joining Clippers; Blake Griffin Joining Russell Westbrook In OKC Thunder

Blake Griffin is one of the names often associated with NBA trade rumors. Los Angeles Clippers has already stated that they want to keep the power forward until he retires but rumors have it that Griffin might be joining Russell Westbrook in OKC Thunder in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Steven Adams.

Oklahoma City Thunder was one of the strongest teams in the NBA league. Unfortunately, they faced their biggest loss this offseason when their forward player Kevin Durant decided to leave them and join the super team, Golden State Warriors.

OKC Thunder is now desperate to fill the big hole that Kevin Durant left on the team. They are seeking the best players possible that could play well alongside their point guard, Russell Westbrook.

The Thunder is very determined to pursue Blake Griffin that they are willing to offer their guard Victor Oladipo and center Steven Adams to Los Angeles Clippers. Per Yibada, if this trade will happen, this could potentially, change the landscape balance of the power in the Western Conference.

Blake Griffin has been a regular in the offseason NBA trade rumors. However, this is not due to his poor performance in the court or poor performance with the Clippers but due to his contract that is soon expiring.

At the time, Blake Griffin has two years contract with LA Clippers after signing an extension in 2012. The team still owes him $41.4 million. Griffin will be a free agent after the NBA 2016-17 season. There are rumors that the Clippers' power forward might seek a greener pasture and rumors have it that OKC Thunder is the best landing spot for Blake Griffin.

However, Blake Griffin joining Russell Westbrook remains to be a rumor until we see Griffin signing a deal with the OKC Thunder. The LA Clippers president and head coach Doc Rivers already said that they want to keep Griffin for good and that they are confident that he will stay. Parent Herald previously reported that Griffin is considering to re-sign a long-term deal with Clippers.
