'Quantico' Season 2 Cast News: Priyanka Chopra Bringing In More Pageant Winners To Television?

The first season of "Quantico" made waves when it made its premiere last season for being led by a Bollywood actress (Priyanka Chopra) for the first time on network television. The pressure is on for "Quantico" season 2 to build up on that legacy and become something beyond the tropes that burdens the typical procedural shows on now.

"Quantico" season 2 will focus on the Farm, the boot camp specially designed for trainees of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Entertainment Weekly reported. It looks like CIA operatives have nabbed Alex (Chopra) from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and she is now undergoing a training to be an agent for the foreign security/intelligence bureau.

Chopra is now very well loved by the Hollywood community and it is expected that her profile will increase further with "Quantico" season 2 and her participation in the remake of "Baywatch." In fact, her prominent role in "Quantico" season 2 represents a subtle shift on how beauty queens (she won the Miss World crown in 2000) are being perceived.

Apart from her, we are seeing other pageant winners and competitors being visible now in the limelight with Halle Berry, Rachel Smith and last year's Miss Universe runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez (Entertainment Tonight says she was cast on "xXx: The Return of Xander") also nabbing acting and hosting duties on movies and television.

"Quantico" season 2 will be aired for the first time on Sunday, September 25, at 10 pm ET on ABC.
