Jessica Simpson Posts Swimsuit Photos of Daughter Maxwell Drew on Instagram

Jessica Simpson has a mini me version who can actually give the star a run for her money. In an Instagram post uploaded by the singer and actress, Maxwell Drew, Simpson's daughter with Eric Johnson, a singer and songwriter widely known for his skills in handling the electric guitar, the 3-year-old is seen donning an orange and white bikini with floral prints, according to The Huffington Post.

The photo, which was posted during the Memorial Day weekend, reminded fans and followers of Simpson of her younger days. With her blonde hair and cute smile, Maxwell perfects the look by mimicking her mom's pose for a bikini ad featured earlier this month. Simpson, wearing one-picture bikini, was pictured in the middle of Sedona desert in Arizona looking all glammed up and sexy, according to Us Magazine.

Simpson has been at the center of several controversies in the past. Some of the issues that consistently hounded the star, however, are linked to her weight. Numerous members of the public have actually openly criticized Simpson of her yo-yoing weight as the actress struggled to keep fit and healthy in the past years. While many factors were cited in relation to her health concerns, a lot of people believe that these issues are caused by her discontent in life.

In her article in Glamour published last September, however, Simpson decided to show the world that she has finally found happiness. She wrote, "Today, I feel truly comfortable in my own skin. Better exercise habits, food choices, and lifestyle changes have contributed to this, but ultimately, my confidence comes from my state of mind."

Apart from the bikini photo, Simpson also uploaded another heartwarming picture of Maxwell. This time around, however, the child is seen pouting to the camera. Simpson captioned the photo, "Kiss." Unsurprisingly, both photos of her daughter gained praises from her Instagram followers. However, some netizens found the bikini shot of Maxwell offensive.

According to Yahoo Parenting, some social media users found Maxwell's pose and choice of clothes as well as Simpson's move to upload the photo in Instagram as an act of "sexualizing" the 3-year-old. Calling Maxwell a "baby," these netizens feel that the child is "posing seductively" which makes the post inappropriate.

Meanwhile, other social media users defended Simpson. "There is nothing sexual about this picture, it's all you people insinuating it that has a problem," comments Instagram user Christine N. Pedersen (cnaurp). She continues, "So many children have posed like this over the centuries, without people calling it sexy. Why is it suddenly such a big problem now? Why do we always have to look for hidden motives in pictures and other things,why can't it be just innocent fun?"
