Exploding Samsung Galaxy Note 7: Quick Fix Issued After 6-Year-Old Burns Hands While Watching Videos On Smartphone

Korean mobile maker Samsung is in deep water following reports that its product, the newly-released Samsung Galaxy Note 7, explodes without warning. The latest victim is a 6-year-old boy, who was watching videos on the smartphone when it unexpectedly burned his tiny hands. Samsung has issued a massive product recall for the S7 and has also released a quick fix for users in light of the incidents.

According to the New York Post, the 6-year-old boy suffered severe burns and has now become scared of any devices. His grandmother, Linda Lewis, stated that the battery on the smartphone exploded while the child was holding it to watch videos.

Paramedics rushed the boy to the hospital, where he was treated for his injuries, which extended to his body. Though the boy is now recovering at home, the incident has left him emotionally scarred. "He doesn't want to see or go near any phones," his grandmother told reporters. "He's been crying to his mother."

According to CNet, Samsung has taken responsibility for what happened to Lewis' grandson and has already contacted the family. However, further investigations are still being undertaken as conflicting reports say that the boy was actually watching videos on the Samsung Galaxy Core. The said phone has already been recalled by Samsung in 2013.

Meanwhile, due to many incidence reports regarding exploding Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the company has issued a worldwide recall of the smartphone, Android Central reports. The device has been distributed in 10 countries since its launch in early August, where it is estimated that over three million users already own it.

But for parents or adults unable to part with their gadget just yet, Samsung has also released a quick fix, which should lessen incidence of the gadget catching fire. Daily Mail reports that Samsung in Korea has already been putting out advertisements in major newspapers advising Galaxy Note 7 owners to charge the phone's battery to up to 60 percent only.
