Chelsea Bombing Aftermath: Obama Says No Connection To Minnesota Mall Incident, Kind Acts Randomly Caught Go Viral

When an unlikely event strikes, it's not only the account of stories that band people together for a unified effort. Sometimes everyday and even random people give more of themselves by sharing whatever excess they have. It is but small acts of kindness that show there's still good in people, though trust is very difficult to find these days.

This is exactly what happened during the aftermath of the Chelsea neighborhood attack last weekend. While officers were doing vigilant rounds of making sure the area was secure and safe enough, several individuals took it upon themselves to bring something out of pocket like snacks or even drinks and offered these to the officers, according to a CNN post.

Selfless gestures by New Yorkers were witnessed during those moments as safety officers were handed out bags of food and coffee as a way of appreciating their efforts post the pipe bomb blast. Some went to great lengths as to giving pizza lunches to the NYPD officers, and these simple acts of gratitude made viral rounds via social media.

Another establishment, the Standard, High Line hotel in the West Village, (through its management) also announced that they would be accepting nearby residents within the affected area, plus free meals (provided a proof of address is presented). Many tourists were quick to appreciate the gesture and expressed them through short, yet, sweet reviews.

Meanwhile, President Obama extended his condolences to the families and individuals affected by the Chelsea attack, the Gothamist reports. Obama also reminded everyone involved not to step ahead of the investigations being made, saying, "It does not help if false information [is being spread]."

He also added that there's no relevant connection between the recent Chelsea bomb blast and the stabbing incident that happened in a Minnesota mall. The U.S. president further commended the people of New Jersey and New York for remaining steadfast and helping one another despite the tragedies that occurred.
