'Beauty And The Beast' Latest News: Luke Evans Reveals Disney Has Banned Him From Baring Bare His Chest As Gaston

A scene in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" animation shows Gaston -- the macho character who thinks he's every woman's fantasy -- ripping his shirt and baring his hairy and muscled chest. Luke Evans, who plays the character in the live action treatment starring Emma Watson, has confirmed that this scene won't be in the upcoming movie.

Unfortunately, those expecting to see Luke Evans' buff chest in the "Beauty and the Beast" live action would be in for a disappointment. The character-defining scene won't be featured in "Beauty and the Beast" simply because Disney didn't allow it.

"There are no topless Gaston scenes, no," the actor told Daily Star. Disney has recently imposed certain scenes that will no longer be depicted in its movies, which also include impalement, smoking and beheading, according to Express. This is in keeping with its objective of making movies that are family-friendly.

Luke Evans was cast as the antagonist in "Beauty and the Beast" in March 2015 and his musical background did help him land the part. In fact, the actor gave a glimpse of his singing prowess when he was guest on "The Jonathan Ross" show. He sang Gaston's anthem on "Beauty and the Beast" with Hugh Jackman, as previously reported on Parent Herald.

Meanwhile, as viewers are anticipating the release of "Beauty and the Beast" next year, Emma Watson has already been receiving praises for her portrayal as Belle. Paige O' Hara, the original actress who gave Belle the voice in the animated movie, cited that Emma Watson is perfect for the part, People reports.

Multi-awarded Disney music composer Alan Menken also hailed the young star of "Beauty and the Beast." "She's really good! I can't picture anyone else, honestly. She's Belle for me now entirely," Menken said via Entertainment Weekly.

The live action "Beauty and the Beast" also stars Dan Stevens as the Beast/Prince, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Kevin Kline as Maurice and Josh Gad as LeFou. The movie is set to delight viewers young and old on March 17, 2017.
