Fisher Price & Proud Parenting Launch Program to Increase Visibility of LGBT Parents

Fisher Price, a well-known company of toys and baby gears, took a broader step as they partnered with Proud Parenting to launch the Proud Parenting LGBT Family Photo Gallery. The said program aims to increase the visibility of the LGBT parents and promote interaction among LGBT parents and the community.

The gallery will be a collection of photos of the LGBT parents with their families. It will give its audience an authentic look of how life is for the proud and modern families. The program will feature new families across Proud Parenting's digital media outlets throughout the summer. It will also be promoted in various sites and apps, like LGBT websites, social media and mobile apps, Edge Media Network reports.

According to LGBTQNATION, families are welcome to share their photos on the Proud Parenting website and view the galleries on Facebook and Instagram.

This move by Fisher Price only reveals that they do not run out of strategies to strengthen their business in the market. They never stop growing and learning and this time, they showed everyone how they make a difference by opening their doors and recognizing LGBT parents. Jeff Bennett, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Proud Parenting, was very excited with their partnership with Fisher Price. Bennet remarked, "With a long-standing history of diversity and inclusiveness, they are now leading the way for a new generation of families."

Fisher Price recognized LGBT parents as an emerging market opportunity for the family-friendly brand. One can never underestimate the number of LGBT Americans. In a report by Edge Media Network, approximately 3 million of the said groups have a child and about 6 million Americans were raised by an LGBT parent. And despite the fact that same-sex marriage is not yet legal to the majority of the states, homosexual couples comprises 50 percent of the Proud Parenting audience, to which 61 percent of them raised two or more children.

This is a great opportunity for Fisher Price to advocate equality in parenting by supporting LGBT through this project. Gabriel Blau, of Family Equality Council Executive Directors, recognizes and appreciates Fisher Price's new venture. Blau said, "By partnering with Proud Parenting, Fisher-Price is using its strong family brand to help bring greater visibility to LGBT-headed families. We applaud their support of sharing our family stories with the nation."

Hailey Sullivan, Fisher Price's director of marketing, expressed her thrill over the project. This project is Proud Parenting's first program to recognize and promote the presence of LGBT parents in the community and the market. Sullivan said, "Fisher-Price is proud to help all parents give their children the best possible start in life."

The decision of Fisher Price opens new doors for a new market, which is the LGBT community. However, they might lose old customers who remain conservative or indifferent toward LGBT families.
