'Outlander' Season 3 Spoilers & News Updates: Who Will Play As Lord John Grey, Young Ian & Joe Abernathy?

Plenty of things are to be anticipated as Starz's "Outlander" returns for season 3. While it's a heartbreak to think that fans will have to wait until 2017, a here are a few "Outlander" Season 3 details can certainly make fans feel that the waiting game is worth it.

In an E! Online report, two new characters will be gracing "Outlander" Season 3 next year. The two characters have been lifted from Diana Gabaldon's "Voyager," the third part of her "Outlander" series.

John Bell, who will portray the character of Young Ian Murray, and Will Johnson, to reprise as Joe Abernathy, have been recently casted. Although the two stars have been batch mates, they would not be appearing in any episode together.

Will Johnson will be playing as Claire's 20th century new-found friend as she enters medical school. The two will get acquainted with each other later in "Outlander" Season 3.

Joe Abernathy is described to become a loyal friend to Claire in "Outlander" Season 3. As the two will feel like fishes out of the water in the new world of medical field, they will develop a deep friendship eventually in the third installment of "Outlander".

Meanwhile, John Bell is reported to be rubbing elbows with Jamie in the 18th century setting. Fans can expect the little boy to be the naughty, menace-inviting lad with a good heart. Young Ian was also described to be akin to his adventurous Uncle Jamie.

Aside from Bell and Johnson, the role of Lord John Grey has also been fulfilled the form of Australian actor David Berry. The three new characters will also be joined by Tobias Menzies comes back for "Outlander" Season 3.

Tobias Menzies--who plays the role of Claire's husband, Frank-was reported to play a tentative goal of holding things together for his wife and child, Brianna. In "Outlander" Season 3, the Frasers will move to Boston in attempt to restart the couple's failing marriage, per Cinema Blend.

"Outlander" Season 3 will be released some time in 2017. However, there is no specific date yet on when it will air on Starz.
