‘Girl Meets World’ Season 4 Cancellation News Update: End Of Show Confirmed? August Maturo & Writers Says ‘Goodbye’

Speculations of "Girl Meets World" not making it to Season 4 have been circulating for a while now. A concrete update about the Disney Channel series is still scarce, but its cancellation remains as a huge possibility judging from the reactions of the "Girl Meets World" cast and crew.

This week, the official Twitter page of the "Girl Meets World" writers revealed the titles of the remaining episodes for Season 3. Those are "World of Terror 3," "Her Monster," "Hollyworld," "A Christmas Maya," "World Meets Girl," "Sweet 16," and "Goodbye."

August Maturo, who plays Auggie, retweeted the "Girl Meets World" writers' post and added, "Not ready for Goodbye." Naturally, these tweets made fans worry about the show's future, M Magazine reported.

There are hopes that "Girl Meets World" will continue its run on Freeform, though that's just speculation. Blanchard said in an August interview with SheKnows that they're already done shooting Season 3 episodes that will air until early 2017.

The coming-of-age series airs its Season 3 Halloween special titled "Girl Meets World of Terror 3" this week, Parent Herald previously reported. In the upcoming episode, Auggie narrates a Halloween story where Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) never met and didn't become the best of friends. Watch the sneak peek below.

The Riley-Lucas-Maya love triangle may receive the most buzz from viewers, but Blanchard thinks that Riley and Maya's friendship is the most significant relationship on "Girl Meets World." The series highlights how strong the girls' friendship is and its ability to endure anything even if it's a boy, which commonly gets in the way of many young girls' relationships. For Blanchard, "Girl Meets World" instills the value of sisterhood in girls instead of their boy problems.

Another hint that "Girl Meets World" is really ending is the fact that Carpenter is busy with her burgeoning music career and her new album "EVOLution." It should be noted as well that Carpenter isn't promoting "Girl Meets World" on her Instagram page since early August, Empty Lighthouse Magazine pointed out.

The "Girl Meets World" Season 3 finale will showcase a big reunion with the "Boy Meets World" cast. Ben Savage (Cory) and Danielle Fishel (Topanga) will be joined by Will Friedle (Eric), William Russ (Alan), Betsy Randle (Amy), William Daniels (Mr. Feeny), Anthony Quinn (Mr. Turner), Rider Strong (Shawn), and both actresses who portrayed Morgan -- Lily Nicksay and Lindsay Ridgeway, TVLine listed. They will all help Riley make an important life decision.

Does "Girl Meets World" deserve a Season 4? Tell us your thoughts below. The new episode airs on Friday, Oct. 14 at 8:30 PM ET on Disney Channel.
