'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' Zombies & Trailer: Gameplay Timeline Sketchy, Insiders Talk About Futuristic Setting

The "Call of Duty" franchise is the most successful in console gaming history that crafts its storylines from previous wars and battles. Since the game moved from PC to console, it has taken several twists and turns during its different spin-offs such as the Modern Warfare and Black Ops titles, Gamezone reports.

On its upcoming update, Treyarch just recently revealed details about "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" in an interview of Polygon with Treyarch studio head, Mark Lamia, and Jason Blundell, the single-player campaign director for "Black Ops 3."

During the interview, Lamia was asked if he felt that the game should march forward in time, to which the studio head responded, "I don't feel like we have to. Fortunately we're in a position where we don't have to do any particular setting that we don't want to. When we start a project we get together as leadership and we talk a lot. What's the right setting for the game?"

Lamia stressed that they are not done with the story they are telling in "Black Ops 2," which introduced the elements of mind control, manipulation and the dark side of things in the military. There is more to it, and he admitted that even though the game is dwelling on a future story, the story they are telling has a relevance in today's society that he is sure will surprise the gamers.

"One of the things that made 'Black Ops' so surprising for people was that it unfolded before them. They didn't know where we were going to end up with that game. That was exciting and fun. They didn't know everything about a Call of Duty game. We're trying to hold that back on this game. It's going to be incredibly surprising. We think people are going to talk about this game. It's an interesting fiction, " Lamia added.

According to IGN, Treyarch will also unveil the new "Call of Duty Black Ops 3: Zombie Mode" and its star-studded voice cast at Comic-Con on July 9 in San Diego, where developers will reveal the details of the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Collector's Edition."

Zombies director and lead writer, Bundell, will lead the panel and debut the "mind-bending tale of the undead." Attendees will receive Zombies memorabilia that are only available at the convention.

Comic-con visitors are also welcome to participate at the Black Ops III Zombies Escape Room Challenge, which requires participants to work as a team to solve a number of problem solving tasks with the goal of escaping the room before the time runs out. In another report from Gamezone, attendees do not need a Comic-Con badge to be a part of the game; however, they need to be at least 18 years old.

The latest addition of the Treyarch series, "Call of Duty: Black Ops  3," will be released on 6 November 2015 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
