New ‘Pokémon GO’ Plus Update Now Allows Customizations, Multiple Notification Modes; Pokémon Spawns Disappear Beyond 30 MPH

"Pokémon GO" saw notable updates recently. Among the latest updates are multiple notification modes for "Pokémon GO" Plus and changes to how Pokémon spawns pop-up in the game.

Niantic announced that "Pokémon GO" Plus now has multiple notification modes available for players. Basically, users can now pick if they wish to receive alerts for only Pokémon, PokéStops, or both. However, scanning for both Pokémon and PokéStops at the same time will maintain the default setting.

Aside from this update, "Pokémon GO" Plus users now have the option to not receive notifications when they are out exploring with their Buddy Pokémon. With this, only the distance that you walked will be recorded. Last of all, the game accessory will stay paired with the "Pokémon GO" app even if players interact with Pokémon or Gyms.

These changes applied to "Pokémon GO" Plus are commendable but there are still missing features that many players would like to see. At the moment, the accessory does not alert users whenever they come across Pokémon they haven't encountered before. Hopefully, this feature will be available in future "Pokémon GO" Plus updates.

"Pokémon GO" Plus is a tiny device that lets "Pokémon GO" players stay connected to the game even though they are not looking or using their smartphone. The accessory, which costs $35 per piece, can be linked to an iOS or Android smartphone via Bluetooth low energy and alerts users through LED and vibration whenever there's a Pokémon or a PokéStop nearby.

Another "Pokémon GO" change was applied to how Pokémon spawns appear. In this update, Pokémon will disappear in your area if you're in a vehicle that travels at more than 30 MPH. This way, users playing while driving will be discouraged and traffic accidents will be avoided, Digital Trends reported.

This update doesn't just apply to drivers but to cheaters as well. "Pokémon GO" players who ride public transportation vehicles such as buses, taxis, and trains while in the game will be affected, too.

Other latest "Pokémon GO" updates include a catch bonus system and a revamped Gym training experience that allows players to bring six Pokémon to battle, Parent Herald previously reported.
