‘Pokémon GO’ Global Halloween Event Teased: More Ghost Spawns, Double Candy Amounts, Pokémon Cosmetics Coming?

It seems like Niantic is preparing a special Halloween event for "Pokémon GO" players judging by a recent Facebook post from the game developer. There are expectations that the global "Pokémon GO" event would unveil more Ghost Pokémon, double the amount of Candies earned by trainers, and provide previously unlockable cosmetics for Pokémon.

Niantic's Facebook post was shared by The Silph Road thread on Reddit. According to the post, "Pokémon GO" trainers "may encounter more Pokémon in the real world." The post was accompanied by a photo of Haunter, which served as a hint about the probable abundance of Ghost spawns in the special Halloween event. The "Pokémon GO" event could introduce a 1000 percent increased rate for Ghost spawns.

A report from Forbes speculated that the special "Pokémon GO" Halloween event would double the amount of Candies given to players while they're walking their Buddy Pokémon. The amount of catch Candy could also be doubled during the "Pokémon GO" Halloween event.

Double catch Candy would serve as a reasonable XP enhancement and would allow players to execute more mass evolves for common Pokémon. The possibility of double catch Candy means that "Pokémon GO" players must venture outside and capture spawns.

There are speculations that "bonus" Egg Candy would be given in the special "Pokémon GO" Halloween event as well. This could introduce +5 extra or some other bonus instead of double Candy.

The ability to get unlockable cosmetics for players' Pokémon could also happen in the special "Pokémon GO" Halloween event. These items could be acquired through strength demonstrations (e.g. catching certain Pokémon, walking for certain kilometers, and fighting in specific Gyms), or they could be purchased with coins.

The fifth nest migration occurred in "Pokémon GO" last week, Parent Herald previously reported. The game also recently introduced a catch bonus for capturing the same Pokémon type and an improved Gym training experience where players are allowed to bring six Pokémon to battle at friendly Gyms.

Do you think that a special "Pokémon GO" Halloween event would happen? What special features and offers do you like to see in that event aside from the ones mentioned above? Tell us your thoughts below.
