IBM News & Updates: World's Largest Information Technology Company Says Enterprise Mac Deployment Saves Money! How? Learn The Details Here.

World's largest information technology IBM, says that Enterprise Mac Deployment saves money. This is one development that is sure to hit headlines because of its ability to save precious company funds.

According to TopTech News, IBM recently released their findings recently at an event earlier this week at the Jamf National Users Conference. Jamf is an Apple distributor partner which helps deploy Mac and iOS products and systems to their respective employees. Enterprise Mac Deployment was discussed in depth during this event.

During the conference, Fletcher Previn, VP of Workplace as a Service at IBM informed everyone who attended the event that they started letting IBM employees choose whether to use an IBM or Mac since 2015. As of 2015, the Macs deployed has grown to around 90,000 which means IBM now has the largest Mac deployment in the world. IBM employees have used Mac products such as MacBook Air, MacBook, MacBook Pro and iPad versions.

As per Fletcher Previn, IBM is saving money on more than just supporting costs. Enterprise Mac Deployment to IBM has helped cut down cost because most hard drive encryption and anti-virus protection require third-party software. This means without Enterprise Mac Deployment, this third-party software must be purchased which will add to the company's overhead cost.

To add, CIO by IDG added that IBM said that the Enterprise Mac Deployment enabled them to save up to $543 US per user. Every Mac IBM purchases for their workforce saves IBM between $273 US and $543 US. This depends on the model against the total cost of ownership of the same PCs during its four-year lifespan.

Enterprise Mac Deployment enabled Macs to represent about 15 percent of all laptops and computers deployed within IBM. IBM also manages 442,000 PCs and 72,000 Linux machines, however, only 5 percent of IBM IT Helpdesk is dedicated to Mac.
