‘Pokémon GO’ New Update, Guide & Tips: Distance-Based Egg Patterns Introduced, Pokémon Type Icons Added, Halloween Event Confirmed

New updates were recently added to "Pokémon GO." Niantic's latest updates involve new Egg patterns and notification features, among others.

Niantic's Oct. 23 patch notes (version 0.43.3 for Android and 1.13.3 for iOS devices) for "Pokémon GO" introduced different Egg patterns that depend "on the distance required to hatch them." Also, each Pokémon's info screen now includes the monsters' type icons.

The screenshot of Niantic's "Pokémon GO" update showed that 2 KM Eggs will remain green, which is the default Egg color even before the update rolled out. Five-kilometer Eggs, meanwhile, will become orange and 10 KM Eggs will turn into purple.

Aside from these, the latest "Pokémon GO" update now alerts users whenever their Pokémon GO Plus battery needs charging. Niantic's update also added "minor text fixes," though the developer didn't exactly disclose what changes occurred.

In other "Pokémon GO" news, Niantic recently confirmed its first in-game Halloween event, which will begin on Oct. 26 and last until Nov. 1, The Verge reported. The "Pokémon GO" event offers special rewards including an abundance of spooky monsters such as Haunter, Gengar, and Gastly. Drowzee, Zubat, Golbat, and Hypno spawns will appear more thanks to the Halloween event as well.

Players can earn more Candy during the "Pokémon GO" Halloween event. Rewards are doubled whenever users catch new Pokémon and transfer them to the professor. "Pokémon GO" players with a Buddy Pokémon can receive more rewards as well.

FastPokéMap, on the other hand, is back to help "Pokémon GO" players locate Pokémon in the wild. To find Pokémon nearby, users only need to click on the map and wait until it has finished scanning.

Clicking on the map will also reveal monsters that other "Pokémon GO" trainers have already discovered, Express reported. A fifth nest migration recently occurred in "Pokémon GO" as well, Parent Herald previously reported.

Prior to the nest migration, a catch bonus was introduced for capturing the same Pokémon type and six Pokémon are now allowed in battles at friendly Gyms. The Pokémon GO Plus accessory, meanwhile, now allows players to choose whether they want to receive notifications for only Pokémon, PokéStops, or both.
