‘One Direction’ Update: Niall Horan Performs Solo Single ‘This Town,’ Chance For Popular Band To Reunite Impossible Now?

While on supposed hiatus, members of the widely popular UK boy band "One Direction" seems to be testing the waters on the possibility of embarking on their own careers. Back in July this year, Liam Payne announced a record deal and earlier than that, Harry Styles likewise inked a contract for a solo album. As another "One Direction" member, Niall Horan releases a new song, only Louis Tomlinson seems stuck with the UK band, crushing the hope of millions of fans for a possible reunion.

Niall Horan's new single "This Town" created Twitter frenzy when it was first released this month. Recently, Niall Horan's gave his first performance as a solo artist during the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards.

A post published by Glamour Magazine detailed the 23-yearl old heartthrob's live performance. An MTV UK post said that Niall Horan's act without his former band mates seems emotional. However, Niall would later say that how can he feel lonely with 10,000 fans present during the performance.

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell is reportedly pissed off by Niall Horan over the singer's decision to sign a contract with "One Direction's" rival record company, Capitol as reported by the Digital Spy. Although the X-Factor hosts made it clear that he will never ban any "One Direction" member in the talent show, Simon Cowell did make some tirade remark about Niall's choice of record company.

In the same Digital Spy Article, Simon Cowell seems to mock Niall Horan by pointing out that "This Town" did not make it to the number one charts. Cowell added that things would have been much better if only Niall Horan stayed with him.

Will a "One Direction" reunion ever happen? The answer is a big maybe for now. So while everyone is hoping to see Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan together again in one stage, it is probably better to enjoy Niall's newest song, "This Town."
