Google Chrome Adds Code to Boost Browser Page Speed

Google stays on top of its browser game with the latest improvement to their browsing flagship product Google Chrome. There is 17% faster startup time for opening the browser, 15% faster loading speed for new tabs, and 5.9% improvement in general page loading speed.

This is now observed in the latest version of Google Chrome: Chrome 53 for 64-bit Windows machines and Chrome 54 for 32-bit Windows machines. Users of Windows computers are encouraged to test out this newly rolled version.

The latest details of the Google Chrome improvements were posted by Sebastien Marchand at the Chromium official blog. Other technical developments for all flavors of Google Chrome are also posted regularly on this site. The challenge to make Google Chrome leaner is perpetually existing, especially in the wake of Microsoft's Edge browser development for Windows 10 computers.

The improvement is hinged on the concept of marrying Google Chrome's inner workings with Microsoft's Profile Guided Optimization. The PGO is a Microsoft developer tool that will allow recompiling of computer applications on Windows. This recompiling will be based on the most useful functions in the application for a specific user.

While Google Chrome made more peace with Microsoft's Windows computers with this latest offering, Google Threat Analysis Group is going more protective on users. The team recently posted a warning about a severe vulnerability in Windows that is heavily exploited. They announced it after coordinating with Adobe and Microsoft, and Adobe promptly responded with a patch fixing the issue.

Aside from the recent developments, Google Chrome is bent on staying on top of the browser race for the long-term. Version 55 will be released this December 2016 and will include power-efficient measures on top of the speed improvements. They continue to have a lion's share of the marketplace for Internet browser users globally. Various tech websites explore popular features as well as hidden functions in Chrome that benefit more advanced users.
