Kids On Drugs: Mother Injects Children With Heroin Make Them Feel Good

A heart-breaking news emerged this week as a couple who injected their toddlers with heroin made the headlines. The 24-year-old mother and her partner were arrested after two children age six and four were tested positive for the drug.

Ashlee Rose Hutt, a 24-tear-old mother and her boyfriend, Leroy McIver, 24 made the headlines after they allegedly injected Hutt's children with heroin. Not only does the couple use the illicit drugs but they also inject the kids with it, according to BBC.

Leroy McIvler and Ashlee Hutt are both set on $100,000 bail. A report from Washington Post then highlighted that side from children's mother, who is addicted to drugs, their living conditions were also not suited for the kids to grow up on.

"The kids lived in deplorable conditions," Pierce County Sheriff's Department spokesman Detective Ed Troyer told The Washington Post. "It wasn't a good living situation even without the issue of heroin. We, unfortunately, find kids living in deplorable conditions all too often, but we don't see parents intentionally putting drugs into kids."

The children, who are in custody described heroine as a "feel good medicine." It was then mentioned that their mother injects them with heroin to put them to sleep. As the case moved forward, McIver and Hutt pleaded not guilty and it remains unclear if they both have their own lawyers or not.

"He described the 'feel good medicine' as a white powder which was mixed with water," the affidavit stated. "His parents then used a needle to inject the 'feel good medicine.'"

Two of Hutt's children were found positive for heroin on their hair follicles. It was also mentioned that they have puncture marks and bruises for consistent cocaine injections. As of the latest update in regards to Hutt's children, they are already doing well in custody.
