Apple Latest News: Refurbished iPhone 6S, 6S Plus Now Available At Discounted Rates; Upgrade Program Offers iPhone 7 Starting At $27 A Month

Everybody wants to own an iPhone. Not unless you're an Android die-hard, having a device made by Apple can be a dream come true. The iPhone, however, comes with a hefty price tag; this fact alone sets up a barrier especially to those who are strict when it comes to spending more than their wallet allows.

With the Holidays just around the corner, Apple is now offering discounted iPhones through their refurbished online store. According to Engadget, the iPhone 6S with a 16GB on board storage is now up for grabs for $499. This will give customers a 15 percent savings ($80) off its usual price. On the other hand, the larger iPhone 6S Plus with the same storage space sells for $529, while its 64GB counterpart can be had for $589. Again, it's 15 percent on savings, or $110 off the price of the 64GB version and minus $100 for the 16GB flavor.

9 to 5 Mac also reported on the same splurge by adding that Apple's refurbished iPhone list will carry the entire color roster, from the traditional silver to the more feminine Rose Gold hue. In addition, each iPhone will come with a new battery, an "outer shell" and a 1-year warranty. They will also come unlocked and is way affordable that what eBay is offering.

Apple tends to be conservative when it comes to selling refurbished iPhones. Cupertino usually reserves these as replacement units for damaged devices, or they offload them to certified third-party resellers. It was only in 2007 that they decided to do so, but Macs and iPads are mainstays in their Special Deals.

One source also believes that the sale is part and partial of the iPhone Upgrade Program that gave out a new iPhone every year plus AppleCare+. In the United States, pricing started at $27 a month for the iPhone 7, $32 for the iPhone 7S Plus and "lower prices for older models."
