Toddler Drank Vodka From Mom Who Is Now Charged With Child Endangerment

An Ohio mom was charged with child endangerment due to allowing her toddler son to take a sip in a cup of vodka into a high school football game. The toddler became ill because of it.

Andrea Mucciarone, 30, pleaded not guilty to the charge Tuesday in Conneaut Municipal Court. The public defender assigned to represent Mucciarone told the court on Wednesday no comment at all.

Upon investigations, Mucciarone reportedly brought the sippy cup and her 23-month-old son to a Conneaut High School football game last Oct. 28, according to CBS News. A relative later noticed something wrong with the boy when he could hardly get up one day after the match. The young boy was brought to the hospital, and the Police came by as well.

Alcohol can be hazardous to a child's body. It is a depressant and can slow down or depress the brain. KidsHealth.org warns about how it can seriously affect a child's brain and other body organs. Vodka like many drugs and alcohol can affect one's ability to think, speak, and see things as they are.

When alcohol, especially high ones like Vodka, is consumed in large amounts can cause serious illness and even death. If adults abusing alcohol can suffer from severe damage to their bodies, then how much more for a toddler? Aside from the brain, a person's liver is also among the first organs that are being destroyed.

Although the investigations are still to be completed, it was clear that the vodka which Mucciarone gave to the toddler has caused serious offense. This mother has put the 2-year-old boy's life in danger by giving him access to alcohol, which can kill him.

Conneaut's police chief says that the toddler remains in the custody of a relative. The toddler still cannot speak for his comments about what happened at this point.
