Grace Sulak’s Hit-And-Run Case: The Quest To Find Unknown Driver Who Killed 14-Year-Old Track Athlete

Fourteen-year-old track athlete Grace Sulak was killed by a still unknown driver in a hit-and-run incident in Calhoun County almost six months ago. However, family and friends and even strangers could not seem to contain their sadness and rage whenever they see the billboard campaign that aims to identify the culprit.

According to The State, Sulak and her best friend Emma Dewey were at the backseat of a Nissan Rogue being driven by Emma's mother Andrea. They were coming back from a track meet when a white truck, which investigators believed to be a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup, run off their vehicle killing Grace immediately. Emma and her mother were also injured but swiftly recovered.

To date, the perpetrators are still at large but investigators are looking for clues and witnesses who could possibly lead them to the truck, which may have a damaged fender on the right side. Heidi Hanson got a text message from her daughter Grace saying she was excited to drop by their favorite sandwich store on their way home. Unfortunately, that was their last conversation

Finding the person responsible for the death of Grace Sulak may just give the family the closure they need. "It does not bring Grace back. But if it saves another life... If it saves another family from going through the indescribable pain of losing someone they love... that will be our closure," People quoted Hanson.

Her mom said Grace was looking forward to a vacation at North Carolina's Lake Lure after her graduation from eight grade in two weeks' time. News of the accident was relayed to Hanson by Kristen Sulak, her partner. However, she had no idea that Grace was already dead.

WSAV said the South Carolina Highway Patrol are still looking for the truck and the driver responsible for Grace's death. They have urged people to report even the small details they remember or any information related to the case so they could finally make the arrest.
