'The Incredibles 2' Release Date & News: Unexpected Villain? Kids Turn On Each Other, Says New Report [Rumors]

The sequel to "The Incredibles" has been confirmed but not much is known about the plot of the film. New reports are circulating that the upcoming film could have an unexpected villain. 

Christian Today has reported that the youngest member of the superhero family will be aged 6 in the film and has fallen into the hands of a familiar villain. 

"Jack-Jack will now be around 6 years old in 'The Incredibles 2' and may become the film's villain. Rumors say that the first film's villain, Syndrome, somehow survived the events in the first film and is now manipulating Jack-Jack to get his revenge. This is compounded by Jack-Jack's inability to properly control his powers."

While not much is known about the characters in the film as well as a summary, Per MNR Daily, Samuel L. Jackson, who played Frozone in the film, has teased an appearance in the sequel. 

The actor said, as quoted by the publication, "Everytime I run into Brad, he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on [in the sequel], so I have to believe that. I guess they could be the Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what's already there."

A few months earlier, Brad Bird updated fans as to the progress of the film's development. SlashFilm shared that writing has only begun. "I'm just staring to write it, so we'll see what happens," said Bird.

"The Incredibles 2" follows the first film which was released way back November 2004. It's entirely possible that the company will follow the same timeline and put the film out towards the end of the year before the holidays. 

As it stands, Pixar has yet to confirm when the much-awaited sequel will be released. There is speculation, per SlashFilm, in a separate report, that the second installment will be out sometime in 2017 but the site notes that Pixar is already booked all the way through the summer of 2017. The firm has a November 2017 slot but it seems more likely that the film will hit theaters in 2018.
