College Football Player Accused Of Killing 16-Year-Old Cheerleader Girlfriend Because Of Jealousy? Tweeted About His Love For Her Hours After Death

A 16-year-old cheerleader reportedly broke up with her boyfriend, who is a college football player and this led to her untimely death. According to reports, the boyfriend, who posted tributes and messages of love on social media hours after her death, was accused of killing the cheerleader.

Chron reported that the 18-year-old college football player, William Riley Gaul, attended Maryville College. His girlfriend was identified as Emma Walker, who attended a Tennessee high school.

Walker was found dead in her home on Monday morning with a gunshot wound. Gaul, on the other hand, was arrested two days after when he told officers he fired shots into the home of Walker while she was asleep.

Now a freshman wide receiver fo the Maryville Scots football team, Gaul and Walker knew each other when he attended Central High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mutual friends claimed that they dated but she broke up with him.

A day after the death of Walker, Gaul's Twitter feed was full of references to the death of the cheerleader. In one tweet, Gaul wrote, "I love you Emma, I can't be around any of that yet, it's too soon. I know you know I'm dying to be there but understand I can't. I love you."

New York Post also reported that Gaul posted another tweet saying that every memory and moment they had and shared could never be relived now that Walker has passed away. He posted another saying that the amount of pain of Walker's family is insurmountable as he continued to talk about the things he and Walker discussed when she was still alive, which included talking about their future and having a family together.

The aunt of Walker, Jenny Weldon, said that Gaul refused to accept that Walker broke up with him. She noted that her niece was a beautiful soul and wanted to be a neonatal nurse.

Gaul remains to be in custody and is being held on a $750,000 bond at the Knox County Jail. He is set to appear in court for his preliminary hearing on Dec. 2.
