"The Last Guardian" creator Fumito Ueda expressed his relief and appreciation through a letter included with the game's media kit. After nine years of development and multiple delays, The Last Guardian is finally in the hands of the gaming industry's experts for a thorough review. The letter also contained a sketch of the little boy and Trico, and the media kit includes a white feather with "The Last Guardian" printed in gold.

The letter starts off with "Dear Adventurers, It's been a long time coming, but I take great pleasure (and relief!) in knowing that 'The Last Guardian' is in your hands," followed by a brief review of the game's development timeline. Fumito Ueda also mentioned the linkage of "The Last Guardian" with his previous projects stating that "just as ICO and Shadow of the Colossus are truly unique games, so too is The Last Guardian an experience unlike any other." Fumito Ueda also suggested for the player to take his time and enjoy the scenery during his exploits together with his unlikely companions and to definitely not miss the ending, based on Eurogamer's article.

The handwritten letter by Ueda contains what looked like a message of valediction as he bequeathed "The Last Guardian" into the hands of the gaming community. After years of development, "The Last Guardian" can finally be experienced by the rest of the populace.

Fumito Ueda committed nine years of his life in developing "The Last Guardian," come to think of it, nine years is a long time to create a game. Fumito Ueda also mentioned in a recent interview by Martin Robinson of Eurogamer that "The Last Guardian" is something he had with him for almost 10 years, "so to let it go is almost a little bit sad." "The Last Guardian" is more than a game, it is considered to be Fumito Ueda's timeless masterpiece.
