NBA Latest News: Nick Young Out 2-4 Weeks With A Strained Right Calf On Los Angeles Lakers vs New Orleans Pelicans Match

As the Los Angeles Lakers continued to struggle in the NBA Western Conference, Nick Young is the latest Laker player to be sidelined with injury for some weeks. Nick Young had left the game on Tuesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans with a 105-88 loss at the Smoothie King Center with a right strained calf and will be ruled out for 2-4 weeks.

Nick Young landed awkwardly after he went for a block, reported NBA Sports News. Young hopped on his left leg around the baseline before collapsing in front of the scorer's table. Los Angeles Lakers called timeout as Young grabbed at his right foot in apparent pain. Nick Young was attended to by a member of the Lakers' training staff before being carried into the locker room.

However, according to the Los Angeles Lakers News, Lakers announced on Wednesday that Nick Young had an MRI in Chicago and the result came back with the calf injury. A calf strain was far better than an Achilles injury, though anything sidelining a player for up to 4 weeks was still a serious problem. The Los Angeles Lakers will still have to find a way to make up for Nick Young.

Los Angeles already missed D'Angelo Russell, who has been held back by left knee soreness. Forward Julius Randle, who helped the Lakers to a 96-90 victory over the Bulls on Wednesday night, missed three games with a hip injury before returning against the Pelicans.

D'Angelo Russell hadn't played since Nov. 20 and had missed out all over 6 straight games. Russell had already received a platelet-rich plasma injection last Wednesday, but it was to believe that it will at least another week away from his returning.

Can Los Angeles Lakers survive in the Western Conference even without their roster like Nick Young and D'Angelo Russell around?
