Johnathon Schaech Expecting First Child in September

Johnathon Schaech's wish list is complete - he is going to be a dad.

The 43-year-old actor and fiancée Julie Solomon will welcome their first child, a baby boy, in September.

"I've wanted to be a dad more than anything in the world. I feel very blessed! I'm beside myself," the "That Thing You Do!" star told People magazine.

The proud father-to-be also shared his excitement with the magazine.

"It is life-changing," he said. "Good things come to those who wait. I feel so lucky."

Fans and well-wishers of the actor welcomed the news and revealed their excitement and happiness via Twitter.

"Oh my goodness!! How exciting! Congratulations to you and your lovely on baby news! So happy for you..you'll be a great poppa!" one of the messages on Twitter read, while another one added,  "You're gonna be a daddy!!! Congrats, babe! What a lucky kid..."

Schaech is planning to follow in his father's footsteps, for bringing up his son in a proper manner.

"My parents are celebrating their 50th anniversary," Schaech told People magazine. "I want to raise my son the way my dad raised me. We are both looking forward to [instilling] the ideals, morals and traditions that both of our parents have and honoring the purpose this child brings us. Oh my God, I feel so blessed!"

The baby news comes shortly after his latest movie "Phantom" hit theaters. He is also scheduled to appear in the upcoming Showtime series Ray Donovan and The Client List.

Schaech, who entered the acting world through commercials, shot to fame with his roles in films like "That Thing You Do!", "Hush" and "Vanity Fair".

Schaech has been married twice before. He tied the knot with actress Christina Applegate in 2001 and split with her in 2007. He later married singer-actress Jana Kramer in 2010. However, the marriage didn't last long and the couple got legally separated one month after their marriage.
